It is also the most startlingly apropos, being one veteran newspaperman’s eulogy for another. All of the stories here were published largely as Wayne submitted them, as he required very little editing. — Wm. Patrick Tandy After Wayne passed away, Tony Hayes, Jan Buckner and I helped his sister and brother-in-law clean out his apartment. I knew he was a photographer but had only seen a few of his photos. I asked if I could have a one of his photos, as a rememberance. An upward-view of a Florida sky and pine trees now hangs in our house. A few days later, in an old Ilford box, we found a stack of photos and contact sheets. They all appeared to have been taken in New Orleans. Wayne had a good eye for people. I was grateful I had a chance to get to know him better through his photography. Some of the images included here were hanging in his entryway. I assume they were some of his favorites. I wanted other people to have a chance see his skill as a photographer. — Davida G. Breier |
